The process started with building and setting a square, level door frame into the existing opening, making sure it was properly shimmed and secured so the door would hang and swing correctly. A classic six-panel interior door was chosen for the space, hung on the new frame with hinges aligned so it opens and closes smoothly without rubbing or sticking. With the door hung, the team moved on to the finishing details that make the biggest visual difference: wide, clean door casing and trim installed around the full perimeter of the frame, hiding the gap between the frame and the surrounding wall. Every joint was mitered and fitted tightly at the corners, then caulked and painted for a seamless, built-in look that matches the crisp white baseboards running along the floor.
