Baseboard Replacement Project in Vaughan

Removing the Existing Baseboards
The old baseboards were carefully removed from the walls, including sections around doorways and corners where trim can be more difficult to separate cleanly. Once the existing material was taken out, the wall base was checked and prepared so the new trim could sit evenly against the surface.
Any areas that needed minor preparation were addressed before installation continued, helping create a cleaner foundation for the replacement baseboards.
Measuring and Cutting the New Trim
Each new baseboard section was measured and cut to fit its specific wall location. Particular attention was given to transitions, inside corners, outside corners, and shorter sections around door openings.
The trim was positioned and adjusted so the visible lines remained straight and consistent throughout the space. Accurate measuring and cutting were especially important at the corners, where small errors can become noticeable once the pieces are joined together.
Mitered Corners, Caulking, and Finishing
The baseboards were installed with carefully fitted mitered joints at the corners to create a clean transition between adjoining sections. Once secured, the top edges and small gaps were caulked to create a smoother connection between the trim and the wall.
The installed baseboards were then finished to create a consistent appearance across the different wall sections and doorway transitions.
