Frameless Shower Door Installation Project in Toronto

This Toronto bathroom project involved replacing a traditional shower curtain setup with a frameless glass door and panel. The existing tub and tile remained in place, while the new glass enclosure gave the shower area a cleaner, more open appearance.

CanRenovation reviewed the tub, tiled walls, and available mounting points before installation. Because frameless glass has very little surrounding structure to conceal uneven spacing, careful measuring and alignment were important throughout the project.

Measuring the Tub and Tiled Shower Area

The shower opening and wall angles were measured so the glass panel and door could fit the existing bathroom layout accurately. The measurements also helped determine the positioning of the mounting hardware and the clearances needed for the door to operate properly.

The goal was to fit the new enclosure to the existing tub and tile rather than make unnecessary changes to the surrounding bathroom finishes.

Installing the Frameless Glass and Hardware

The clear glass panel and door were positioned in the shower area and secured using the required mounting hardware. The glass was carefully aligned so it remained stable and visually consistent with the surrounding tile lines.

Each hardware connection was checked during installation to keep the panel properly supported and the door positioned correctly within the opening.

Door Alignment and Silicone Finishing

After the glass was secured, the shower door was checked for smooth opening and closing. Final adjustments were made so the door could swing freely without rubbing or contacting the surrounding surfaces.

Silicone was applied along the appropriate glass edges and base areas to create a neat finished seal where the enclosure meets the tub and surrounding surfaces. The finished joints were kept clean so the seal remained visually subtle against the clear glass.

The Finished Toronto Shower Door Project

The completed project replaced the shower curtain with a frameless glass enclosure that opened up the appearance of the bathroom while retaining the existing tub and tile.

This Toronto shower door installation project shows how accurate measuring, careful glass positioning, hardware alignment, and clean sealing work together to create a polished finished enclosure.
