Basement Baseboard Installation Project in Scarborough
This Scarborough basement project involved installing new baseboards throughout the space along with door jambs and casing around the interior door openings. The finishing work focused on creating clean transitions between the walls, flooring, corners, and doorways.
CanRenovation reviewed the wall lengths, door openings, and trim transitions before installation so each section could be measured and fitted to the existing basement layout.
Measuring and Preparing the Basement Trim
The wall sections and door openings were measured before the new trim was cut. Particular attention was given to corners, shorter wall sections, and transitions where the baseboards would meet the door casing.
Preparing the layout in advance helped keep the trim lines consistent throughout the basement and reduced unnecessary gaps between adjoining pieces.
Installing the New Baseboards
New baseboards were cut to fit the individual wall sections and installed around the basement perimeter. Each piece was positioned to follow the wall and floor lines as closely as possible.
The corners and joints were carefully fitted so adjoining sections would meet cleanly and create a more continuous finished appearance across the room.
Door Jamb and Casing Installation
The project also included installing door jambs and casing around the interior door openings. The trim was measured and fitted to frame the openings while coordinating with the surrounding baseboards.
The transitions between the casing and baseboard sections were checked so the finished trim would look consistent around the doorways and adjacent walls.
The Finished Scarborough Basement Trim Project
The completed project left the basement with new baseboards, door jambs, and casing installed throughout the finished areas. The trim created cleaner edges around the walls, corners, and interior door openings.
This Scarborough basement baseboard installation project shows how careful measuring, cutting, joint fitting, and coordinated door trim can bring the finishing details of a basement together.
