Preparing the Baby Gate Mounting Area
The wall and door-frame mounting points were checked before the gate hardware was installed. Because the existing trim did not block the intended mounting position, no baseboard cutting or patching was required for this project.
The opening was measured and the gate position was planned so the hardware could be installed cleanly on both sides.
Mounting and Aligning the Baby Gate
The baby gate hardware was secured to the available mounting surfaces, and the gate was positioned and leveled within the opening.
After installation, the gate was opened and closed several times and the latch was tested to confirm that it engaged properly and the gate remained aligned during use.
Addressing the Window Operation Issue
During the same visit, the client also asked CanRenovation to inspect a window that would slide back down instead of remaining open on its own.
The existing window operation was checked and adjusted so the window could open and remain in position without needing to be held manually.
